After releasing an updated version of the blockchain, the British company Ripple, specializing in the development of financial technologies, introduced a new generation of decentralized currency exchange systems using the AMM product (automated market-making systems). This system is already included in the public voting on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) blockchain and has received wide support from users and blockchain developers.

AMM allows any user to become a liquidity provider and earn rewards for any trading pair on the blockchain network. This contributes to increasing XRPL liquidity and the development of innovations on the network. However, the vote on the implementation of AMM has been delayed due to a lack of consensus among validators.

However, some validators supported the AMM function despite doubts from others. The final word on this matter belongs to the court - Ripple became one of the validators supporting AMM, as a result of which they were able to provide documents confirming the need for such a function.

These documents have indicated that Ripple had high liquidity costs when using its On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) service, now known as Ripple Payments. In order to ensure liquidity in markets where XRP was not sufficiently liquid, Ripple was forced to pay intermediaries fees.

AMM will be a solution to this problem, allowing anyone to become a liquidity provider and increase the liquidity of any trading pair without additional fees and obstacles. The implementation of this function will reduce Ripple`s liquidity costs.

The authors of the hypothesis also noted that implementing the AMM function requires the development of on/off-ramp protocols, which are currently unavailable in some countries and have high fees. They also emphasized that successful integration of AMM and ODL is possible when these protocols become available in all countries.

Representatives of the XRP community expressed different opinions regarding the implementation of AMM. Some of them expressed concerns about possible network problems that AMM may cause and expressed a desire to test the system before implementation.
